About the Benchmark

Mission

The UK Enterprise GenAI Adoption Benchmark exists to provide organisations with actionable insights into generative AI adoption across the United Kingdom. By gathering comprehensive data on strategy, implementation, challenges, and outcomes, we enable organisations to make informed decisions about their GenAI initiatives.

Objectives

  • Establish a comprehensive baseline of GenAI adoption maturity across UK enterprises
  • Identify common challenges, barriers, and success factors in GenAI implementation
  • Provide organisations with benchmarking data to compare their progress against peers
  • Inform policy discussions and industry best practices for responsible AI adoption

Scope

This benchmark focuses exclusively on generative AI technologies and their adoption within UK-based enterprises. We examine adoption across seven key domains:

Strategy & Governance

Strategic alignment, governance frameworks, policy development, and organisational readiness.

Data Readiness

Data quality, accessibility, governance, and infrastructure for GenAI models.

Platform Architecture

Technical architecture, deployment models, integration strategies, and vendor relationships.

Security

Security considerations, risk management, compliance, and data protection.

Delivery

Project delivery methodologies, team structures, and implementation approaches.

Change Management

Organisational change, training, communication, and adoption strategies.

ROI & Business Impact

Measurement of return on investment, business impact assessment, value realisation, and strategic outcomes.

Research Team

This research is conducted by a team of independent researchers with extensive experience in enterprise technology adoption, AI governance, and organisational change. The study follows rigorous academic and industry standards for research methodology, data collection, and analysis.

Funding & Independence

The benchmark is independently funded and conducted. While we work with supporting organisations to reach participants and validate findings, the research methodology, data collection, and analysis remain independent and objective. All organisations participating in the survey contribute to the same anonymised dataset.
